Become a Mentee

Make It Happen

While engaged in Artisans Asylum’s Maker Mentors Program, you’ll learn from artists, designers, entrepreneurs, and educators who bring years of experience to every lesson and every project.

In addition to participating in individualized, project-based learning with your mentor, you’ll have the chance to present your work at one of Artisans’ Emerging Maker Showcases. The Showcases are a great opportunity not only to share and improve your designs but to grow your professional network as well.

You’ll also be able to connect with art employment opportunities, including public art and infrastructure projects like painting murals and welding bike racks.

The Steps to Sign-up:

  1. Sign up for and attend one of our Mentee Information Sessions.

  2. Fill out and sign our Release of Claims Agreement with a guardian. You will need to submit them during the next step.

  3. Fill out the Mentee Questionnaire to help us determine mentor recommendations.

  4. Once your questionnaire’s been reviewed, then you’ll be invited via email to sign up and attend one of our Forging Futures: Mentee-Mentor Meet & Greets.

  5. After you are paired with a mentor, Artisans’ staff will email you and your mentor to schedule a meeting to get your team on the same page.

  6. Attend the Goals Meeting to determine goals for the lifespan of your year-long mentorship.

  7. Your mentorship commences!
