Our Spaces
With our relocation to Boston, Artisan's moved from a single 42,500 SF space into two buildings commonly referred to as Holton Street and Antwerp Street. Holton Street, a 28,000 SF property housing our light-duty shops, is our main public building. Antwerp Street is a 24,500 SF property that houses our heavy duty shops; it is closed to the general public. The two buildings have ample parking and are separated by Telford Street and a 250-xyard walk.
Artisans is programmed across two buildings in Lower Allston (on the Allston-Brighton border). Both buildings house a mix of studios, workshops, storage and common areas. Holton Street is our publicly accessible building that also hosts a gallery, public presentation spaces and classrooms. Storage, available for rent by the month, includes shelf, pallet-sized spaces and studios.
Holton Street
Holton Street is our main entrance (where to check in when you arrive). It is home to our public gathering spaces, 8 workshops, 77 artist studios, and several shared workspaces. In addition to serving as a hub for digital innovation, jewelry, fiber arts and screen printing, its a great space to host public events - from demo nights to potlucks, 96 Holton is a welcoming space for creative community.
Antwerp Street
Antwerp Street is like the boiler room of a ship - it’s where our heavy-duty equipment lives, and where large projects come alive. It’s big, loud, and sometimes messy and it is not open to the public - you must be a member and invited guest or a participant in a class to visit. The space is home to 5 workshops, 70 studios, and two shared workspaces. 55 Antwerp Street is also home to SCUL, our community bike shop.
