Casting Shop
The Casting Shop is a space for creating hand-crafted metal pieces, from fine jewelry to small-scale sculpture and functional objects. It is designed for makers who want to shape metal through traditional casting techniques, combining craftsmanship, experimentation, and technical skill in a supportive learning environment.
Members use this shop to work with both sand casting and investment casting processes. Sand casting allows for fast, hands-on creation of detailed pieces and is well suited for beginners and experienced makers alike. Investment casting supports more complex forms and fine detail, making it ideal for advanced projects that require precision, complexity, and high-quality finishes. Together, these processes support a wide range of creative and technical applications.
What makes the Casting Shop special is its focus on experimentation and shared learning. Makers are encouraged to explore materials, techniques, and ideas while learning from one another in a collaborative setting. The space is built for jewelry, artwork, and small-scale metal casting, offering the tools and support needed for creative exploration without the scale or structure of a large industrial foundry.
Members and Day Pass users must complete Tool Testing.
