Machine Shop
The Machine Shop is where precision work happens. This is the space for creating highly accurate metal and plastic parts using both manual and CNC machining. Members use the shop to fabricate everything from simple components like brackets to complex functional builds such as precision mechanisms and working mechanical systems.
The shop supports both learning and production. It is used for hands-on training, machine use introductions, and project-based courses, as well as for individual and team projects that require accuracy and repeatability. Most work is done in materials like steel, aluminum, and engineering plastics, with additional projects in stainless steel, brass, bronze, copper, and other specialty materials. The focus here is on controlled processes, careful measurement, and building parts that fit and function exactly as intended.
What makes the Machine Shop unique is its depth of capability and its continuous evolution. The space is designed to support complex fabrication, detailed assembly, and testing, and it continues to grow as new equipment and tools are added. It is a shop built for makers who care about precision, process, and pushing their technical skills to the next level.
Members and Day Pass users must complete Tool Testing.
