CNC Plasma Cutter Shop

Operating as a specialized sub-shop of the Metal Shop, this workspace is centered around a 4-foot by 8-foot CNC plasma cutter capable of transforming sheet metal into accurately cut components for fabrication, art, signage, and custom projects. By combining computer-controlled precision with the versatility of plasma cutting, the shop makes it possible to produce complex shapes quickly and consistently.

Members use this space to create everything from brackets and machine parts to decorative panels, wall art, signs, and custom fabrication templates. Most projects are cut from mild steel, though aluminum and stainless steel can also be processed depending on the application. The Plasma Shop excels at producing repeatable, high-quality parts that can be incorporated into larger welding, fabrication, or mixed-media projects throughout the makerspace.
